Is Wayfinders Right for You?
We know deciding to join a Wayfinders Adventure is not a small choice. You may be wondering what to expect, who you will be with, and whether this is the right fit for you.
That’s why we’ve gathered answers to the most common questions entrepreneurs ask before they apply.
Our goal is simple: to help you understand what Wayfinders is all about so that you can decide with confidence whether this path is for you.
-
Wayfinders creates transformative Adventures for entrepreneurs and leaders who are ready for their second mountain: a life of deeper adventure, authentic community, and lasting transformation.
Each experience combines bold journeys in wild places, a curated peer group, and proven frameworks for personal growth.
-
Wayfinders was founded by Mike Brcic, a serial entrepreneur, adventurer, and community builder with a passion for helping leaders live more aligned and fulfilling lives.
Mike has spent more than two decades guiding people into wild and remote places around the world, from Mongolia to the Himalayas to the deserts of Arabia.
Through these journeys he has seen how adventure, authentic community, and intentional reflection can spark profound personal transformation.
Before starting Wayfinders, Mike built and scaled a successful travel business (Sacred Rides). That experience gave him both the rewards and the costs of entrepreneurship, and it inspired him to create a space where entrepreneurs could find connection, clarity, and renewal beyond the chase for achievement.
Mike lives in Toronto, is a devoted father of three, and is rarely happier than when he is out on his bike or exploring trails in nature. His mission with Wayfinders is simple: to help successful entrepreneurs climb their second mountain, and in doing so live more courageous, connected, and purposeful lives.
-
Our unique ACT model sets us apart:
Adventure: immersive journeys in spectacular places.
Community: curated groups of extraordinary peers who truly see you.
Transformation: frameworks and facilitation that create lasting impact.
Most travel programs focus on experiences. We design experiences that change lives.
-
Wayfinders Adventures are most definitely not a vacation. If you’re looking for rest, relaxation, or a chance to escape from everyday life, this is not the right place.
Wayfinders is about leaning in, not checking out. Our Adventures are designed as expeditions of the inner and outer world: journeys that blend bold challenge, meaningful community, and deep reflection.
They ask you to show up fully, to stretch beyond comfort, and to discover parts of yourself that vacations can’t reach.
This is not about distraction or indulgence. It’s about transformation, alignment, and returning home with a clearer sense of who you are and the life you want to live - and a community to help you get there.
-
Yes, and you should. Many participants classify Wayfinders as a professional development investment because it directly impacts leadership, decision-making, and resilience.
We encourage you to speak with your tax professional, but past participants have successfully written off the experience. Beyond the financials, the return on investment comes through clarity, focus, and renewed energy for both business and life.
-
Wayfinders Adventures are designed for successful, experienced entrepreneurs seeking deeper alignment, authentic community, and transformative global experiences.
-
Many of our Adventures include long hikes, sustained outdoor activity, and time in remote terrain. Please review the Challenge Level rating for each Adventure to ensure it aligns with your current capacity and desired stretch.
If you aren’t comfortable being physically active for multiple hours per day, Wayfinders is probably not the right fit.
-
Each Adventure has a Challenge Level rating that gives you a clear sense of the physical demands. We also tailor the challenge to participants, offering options for different fitness levels and splitting into groups when needed.
The goal is to stretch you without breaking you. If you enjoy being active and are willing to prepare, you will be ready.
-
We stay in a mix of authentic and inspiring settings: from luxury lodges and boutique guesthouses to tented camps and village homestays.
Each Adventure has an ‘Off-the-Map Factor’ rating that shows how rustic or comfortable the accommodations will be. The heart of the experience is always in the landscapes and connections, not just the lodging.
-
Every Adventure is guided by the Wayfinders team, including founder Mike Brcic (specializing in the XChange and Ten Directions approaches of facilitation) and experienced facilitators who specialize in leadership, transformation, and group dynamics.
Local guides join us to share culture, wisdom, and safety expertise. The combination ensures both authenticity and depth.
-
Most Adventures include 18–24 participants, plus two facilitators. This size is intimate enough to build deep trust and connection, and large enough to bring diverse perspectives. Each group is intentionally curated to ensure fit and alignment.
-
Every group is a carefully curated circle of entrepreneurs and leaders. Participants are accomplished, open-minded, and committed to growth.
The curation process ensures that the community is one of the most powerful parts of the experience. Many participants build friendships that last long after the Adventure ends.
-
Entrepreneurs live at the edge of constant responsibility and ambition. Many have achieved outward success yet crave deeper alignment and meaning.
By curating groups of peers who share this journey, Wayfinders creates an environment where you are truly understood, challenged, and supported. The conversations and connections are richer because everyone is walking a similar path.
-
Most Adventures range from $9,995 to $12,995 USD plus airfare. Many participants view this as a professional development investment and are able to write it off as a business expense.
The real return is the clarity, relationships, and transformation that ripple through every part of your life.
Most participants report a direct financial return on their investment: from the relationships made and the clarity and confidence they gain.
-

100%. We carefully choose locations and work with trusted local partners who know the terrain and culture.
Each Adventure includes safety protocols, trained guides, and contingency plans.
While adventure always carries some uncertainty, your well-being is our top priority, and we take every precaution to manage risks responsibly.
-
The default is typically two participants per room in lodges, hotels, guesthouses, or tents.
This is part of the shared experience and fosters connection. In some cases, especially in remote or rustic settings, accommodations may be shared in larger formats (yurts, huts, tents).
Single room upgrades are available on most Adventures at the Plus or Premium level, depending on location and availability.
-
You can still apply. Many participants secure a spot on a future Adventure, and applying now helps us get to know you and keep you in the loop. We encourage you to apply even if your preferred dates are further out.
-
Apply anyway. The application starts the conversation, and together we will help you decide which Adventure is the best fit for your goals, timing, and fitness level.
Many applicants end up choosing a different Adventure than they first imagined. The important thing is to start the process.
-
Yes. Many alumni return for multiple Adventures - our return rate is over 75%!
Each journey is unique, and the combination of new landscapes, challenges, and people keeps the experience fresh and deeply rewarding. This is not a one-time trip. It is an ongoing path of adventure, community, and transformation.
-
There is no such thing as a “typical” day, but the rhythm blends adventure, reflection, downtime and connection.
You might hike through a wild landscape, share meals with locals, gather with the group for facilitated dialogue, and close the day around a fire or in stillness.
Every day is designed to balance challenge with integration so that the experience sinks deeper than just activity.
-
Absolutely. While the focus is personal transformation, participants consistently report profound professional benefits. Clarity, presence, and alignment translate into better decision-making, improved leadership, and stronger relationships at work.
Many entrepreneurs return with renewed energy and vision for their businesses, along with a deeper sense of who they are beyond their work.
