Our journey begins in the vast, untouched wilderness of NEOM, Saudi Arabia, where the desert stretches endlessly and the mountains burn gold in the setting sun.
Here, in the quiet stillness, far from the noise of the modern world, we will walk across an ancient land shaped by time and solitude.
Our time here will focus on preparation for the pilgrimage ahead in the Sinai peninsula.
The silence is profound, the horizon limitless, the sunsets awe-inspiring - a place where deep reflection comes naturally.
sea TO SINAI
From NEOM, we will cross the shimmering waters of the Red Sea to the Sinai peninsula of Egypt, stepping onto the remote Sinai trail.
For centuries, pilgrims, prophets, and wanderers have walked these paths, following the same rugged terrain we will now traverse.
With the Bedouins, who have lived here for thousands of years, as our guides, and their camels as our companions, we’ll make our way through a landscape unchanged by time.
Where Ancient History Comes Alive
This is a land of deep history, sacred to all three major religions. A local historian will join us to bring its stories to life, and take us back in time to the origins of these religions, traditions and cultures.
To the summit
Our journey in Egypt is demanding - over 50 kilometres of hiking and more than 5,000 feet of vertical gain - but the rewards are immeasurable.
We will ascend to the summit of Mt. Catherine, Egypt’s highest peak, where the vastness of the Sinai unfolds beneath us.
A CANOPY OF STARS
Each evening, we’ll gather around the campfire beneath a sky ablaze with stars, sharing tea and stories with the Bedouins, forging connections that transcend language and culture.
This is more than an expedition; it is an experience of deep connection: to ourselves, to each other, and to the raw beauty of the world.
In these remote, ancient lands, far from the distractions of daily life, we will find clarity, camaraderie, and an adventure unlike any other.

Our member programming - the rich experiences that happen between Adventures - is being thoughtfully redesigned based on member feedback and the shifting world around us.
Starting in 2025, member programming will be exclusively available to Adventure participants and alumni.
Attending a Wayfinders Adventure will become the only way to join the community and access our ongoing programming. This is by design: our best work and best connections happen when we begin in person, in nature, and on purpose; we deepen from there.
We’re also simplifying and focusing our programming around three core pillars that reflect what’s needed most in the years ahead:

A monthly 90-minute call with Mike (plus guest guides and facilitators)
Two full-day, in-person gatherings in Toronto (June Adventure day + December holiday party)

A moderate level of fitness is required. Camels are available if needed, but there will be sections that camels cannot pass which you will have to traverse on foot.
You should be able to hike for 7-15 km/day (4 to 9 miles/day) at a moderate pace.

Our meeting point will be in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, at our hotel at 5:30 pm on Feb. 28, 2026 (the Adventure starts the next morning).
We suggest spending a couple of days in Cairo before the event (we are hosting a special Cairo day for all Plus-level members) and then flying to Tabuk the afternoon of Feb. 28. Our Adventure starts the next day with a 2-hour drive into a remote part of the NEOM desert.
After the Adventure, we will be ending in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt at approximately 3 pm on Mar. 9, 2026.
We are working on a Red Sea cruise option to extend the experience, which will start that afternoon. Alternatively, you can fly home from Sharm-el-Sheikh as early as 6 pm on Mar. 9 (there are multiple daily flights to Europe).

Basic level includes shared rooming in a double room at our hotel in Tabuk, and shared tents during the adventure (2/tent).
Plus and Premium level include single rooming at our hotel and single tents during the adventure.

You will be provided with a detailed packing list 8 weeks prior to the event, and a final weather-dependent list just prior to the event (expect warm, sunny days with highs in the low 20s Celsius, and cool nights with lows in the 12 to 14 range. The weather is perfect at this time of year!

Once you’re booked, you’re booked, and no refunds are available (we want people who are fully committed to the event and the community, and aren’t going to let ‘busyness’ get in the way of a life-transforming experience). Things happen, of course, so for that reason, we strongly recommend you purchase trip cancellation insurance.
Although we cannot offer a refund, if we can find someone to take your spot then you can get a full credit toward a future adventure.

Being offline and fully present with each other for 8 days is one of the highlights of the experience.
There will be a day of connectivity between Saudi and Egypt, and we will have a sat phone and Starlink for emergency use.

That’s a valid concern! We will be in a remote area, far from ‘civilization’ for most of our time in Saudi Arabia and Egypt
Rest assured that we have safety and emergency protocols in place for all scenarios.
Mike and Justin, the facilitators, are both trained in Wilderness First Aid, and extensive emergency evacuation protocols are in place.
